Side Impact: Community Connection at Side India

news-desc

A look at how our teams are connecting with local communities in Bangalore and Hyderabad

At Side, we aim to reflect the values we believe in, both in how we build games and how we engage with the world around us. One of our core company values is to be Stronger Together—and supporting local initiatives focused on education, care, and connection is one way we put that into practice.

These efforts reflect our broader principles as a global company: staying present within our communities, building meaningful relationships, and using our time and resources to contribute where we can.

Our annual CSR activities in India aim to fulfill these principles, offering valuable opportunities for our teams not only to uplift their communities, but to forge stronger bonds with one another. This year, our studios in Bangalore and Hyderabad partnered with two small organizations making an outsized impact:

Bangalore: Snehashraya Foundation

In Bangalore, 17 volunteers from our local team visited the Snehashraya Foundation, a nurturing home for underprivileged children located near Gundur Lake. The foundation, led by Dr. Tilagavathi D., supports 35 children in a serene location surrounded mango farms, giving them access to security, care, as well as social services from a professional counsellor.

The team spent the day on-site, learning more about the organization’s work and participating in a mix of games and activities. We took part in challenges like Water Pong and Cup Pyramid with the children, along with a group session of Musical Chairs. Prizes were awarded to the winners, and each child left a fingerprint on a Side poster as a symbol of the bond we shared that day. We finished the day with cake and distributed snack boxes, diaries, and goodie bags as keepsakes from the visit.

Hyderabad: Joy Foundation

Meanwhile, in Hyderabad, 30 Side volunteers visited the Joy Foundation, a seniors’ home founded by Dr. L. Rajkumar with the aim of providing free housing and care to the older members of society who need it most. After a warm welcome from the residents, our team began with introductions and listened to their life stories—each one offering valuable perspectives and insights, highlighting their experiences, resilience, and wisdom.

Throughout the day, the atmosphere became lively with board games, Musical Chairs, and dance sessions that brought smiles and laughter to everyone in the room. After a refreshment break, we presented gifts to the residents before saying our goodbyes.

Our Commitment to Community

These visits were a reminder that meaningful work doesn’t always happen behind a desk or in front of a screen. Whether through volunteering time, sharing space, or creating genuine connections, our teams found small but real ways to connect with the people around them. We continue to look for opportunities—locally and globally—to engage with our communities in ways that feel honest, useful, and human.
